Legacy Family Medicine is built around relationship-based care. Patients work directly with Dr. Sherman for everyday concerns, ongoing health needs, preventive care, and the next steps that often make healthcare feel complicated.
The goal is a calmer primary care experience: enough time to listen, clearer communication, and practical help navigating labs, imaging, medications, and referrals.

Questions?
Call (480) 660-6451 or email info@legacyfamilymd.com.
Do I still have a regular doctor?
Yes. Legacy Family Medicine is primary care. The difference is that the practice uses a membership model instead of insurance billing, which allows more time and direct access.
What can I be seen for?
Members can be seen for preventive care, sick visits, chronic conditions, medication management, simple procedures, and many everyday family medicine needs.
Who is direct primary care best for?
Direct primary care is a good fit for people who want easier access to their doctor, more time during visits, and clear pricing for everyday primary care needs.
Can Legacy help when something comes up quickly?
Yes. Members can reach out for many urgent everyday concerns, including sick visits, minor injuries, medication questions, and new symptoms that should not wait weeks.
What happens if I need to contact my doctor when I'm out of town?
Legacy Family Medicine physicians are licensed in Arizona, so members of our practice must reside in Arizona. If a health concern comes up while you are traveling, you can reach out to your doctor and we will see how we can help. For domestic travel, we may be able to send a one-time antibiotic or refill to a local out-of-town pharmacy when appropriate. Although we cannot prescribe across international borders, we are still available virtually for advice and may be able to help you avoid an unnecessary urgent care or emergency room visit.
What does membership cost?
Adult membership is $100/month. Child membership is $50/month. Employer groups of 8 or more receive a 10% discount.
Are labs and procedures included?
Some testing is included, such as EKGs, rapid strep tests, urine dipstick testing, and urine pregnancy testing. Other labs, imaging, medications, and procedures are offered with transparent pricing.
What is included in the monthly membership?
Membership includes visits with Dr. Sherman, direct communication with the clinic, and primary care for acute, chronic, and preventive needs. We never charge co-pays.
Will I get surprise bills?
No. Legacy does not bill insurance, and additional costs are discussed before care is provided so you can make an informed decision.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Legacy does not bill insurance. Members pay the clinic directly through a monthly membership fee.
Can I use insurance for labs, imaging, or medications?
Yes. Legacy does not bill insurance for clinic visits, but you can still use insurance for labs, imaging, medications, and other services outside the clinic when that makes sense. You can also choose Legacy’s transparent cash prices, even if you have insurance.
Should I keep insurance?
Yes. Membership is not a substitute for insurance or emergency coverage. Insurance is still important for hospitalizations, surgeries, emergency care, and major unexpected illness.
Can I use insurance outside of Legacy?
Yes. You can still use insurance for specialists, prescriptions, imaging, hospital care, emergencies, and other services outside the clinic.
